Retaining the overall aesthetic of its hiking boot-esque predecessor, the new M988 boasts an impossibly plush Fresh Foam sole unit while the shoe’s suede upper — a combination of both smooth and perforated paneling — has been supplemented with a mesh tongue for added breathability. Retailing for $140 USD each, the M988OF and M988OB are now available from New Balance retailers like Grand Rapids-based Premier.
