Recently, N.E.R.D. reunited after years of hiatus when they had been called upon by the makers of the SpongeBob SquarePants movie to make the track “Squeeze Me.” If you were excited about that, we have some good news for you: there will be more N.E.R.D. collaborations with the motion picture. Pharrell revealed that the group recorded two more tracks titled “Patrick Star” and “Sandy Squirrel” — named after the protagonist’s best friends — and they are due for release in the coming weeks. Skateboard P says, “We loved going into the studio to make music for this film. I am one of SpongeBob’s biggest fans — can’t wait for everyone to hear the songs.” N.E.R.D. member Shae Haley added, “It was a complete honor to be a part of this project. SpongeBob and N.E.R.D. share the same belief that imagination is the key to everything.” Stay tuned for more news on this and let us know how you feel about it.
