Panasonic just announced at CES 2015 that the Lumix CM1 smartphone will be making its way to North America. Many were stunned when the new smartphone was revealed at the Photokina camera show this past September, yet the phone does have features that can only be found in high quality point-and-shoot cameras. The phone itself is an Android 4.4 with 2 GB of RAM, but also features a 1-inch sensor, 20-megapixel sensor, Snapdragon processor and 1080p display. It’s equipped with a marvelous f/2.8 Leica lens that has 4K video capabilities and full manual controls. The 4.7-inch display is tantamount to the iPhone 6’s size but when considering the phone’s speed, efficiency and incredible camera software altogether, the Lumix CM1 redesigns what we know as smartphones today. The Panasonic Lumix CM1 will allegedly be available unlocked for $1,000 USD this summer.
