For many, ’80s cop show Miami Vice was an influential institution, shaping tastes in tailoring and T-shirts alike. Memories of the show also harp on Crockett’s sleek 1986 Ferrari Testarossa, surely the subject of countless wall posters and upscale fantasies. Transcending mere nostalgic value, the original model from the show was recently put up for auction on eBay. Prices began at a cool $1.75 million USD, arguably a reasonable price given the car’s 16,000 miles and not to mention its heritage in pop culture. Interested parties will be disappointed to find that the eBay auction has ended, although the closing price – or sale announcement – has been yet confirmed.
