Essentials: Motofumi "Poggy" Kogi
For our latest installment of Essentials we caught up with Motofumi “Poggy” Kogi, creative director

For our latest installment of Essentials we caught up with Motofumi “Poggy” Kogi, creative director of UNITED ARROWS & SONS. From his humble beginnings as a sales assistant at the brand, Poggy quickly rose through the industry and became brand buyer and director. Characterized for his refined yet eclectic personal style, Poggy also takes position as an influential street style icon within Japan’s fashion scene. Poggy shares with us his everyday staples as well as his key items for success. Firstly, Poggy’s undoubtedly included a few UNITED ARROWS & SONS items, namely, a jacket and a pair of jeans, both fundamental to everyday wear. A HUMAN MADE vest and a pair of Mo’ Wax Records x Nike Blazer High sneakers complete the outfit. As for accessories, Poggy throws in a pair of EYEVAN 7285 sunglasses, a Parabellum belt, and a 5525gallery x Kijima Takayuki hat to top off his look. The fragment design x Beats by Dre Capsule Collection headphones and pill speakers are the only tech items that are featured. We recognize Poggy’s love for bags as we see two different styles: the practical Porter Tanker Garment Bag Type A and a more fashionable readymade Boston bag. There’s also a Stussy pouch for miscellaneous everyday items. Being a man frequently on the go, Poggy prizes his passport case — brand unknown as it was a gift from Liberty Fair — and a Rimowa suitcase for light traveling. Check out the Essentials above, and head over to UNITED ARROWS & SONS to explore the brand.
