For an edition of their Crate Diggers series, Fuse caught up with Afrika Bambaataa for an interview and a closer look inside his vinyl collection. The 57-year-old sage’s collection of vinyls served a major part in helping to lay the foundations for and define the then-burgeoning genre of hip-hop, and all 600-plus boxes of his records are stored at Cornell University. Fuse’s 11-minute mini-documentary on the Soulsonic Force frontman and his collection delves deep into some of Bambaataa’s history and record collection, and this is essential viewing for anyone even remotely interested in hip-hop.
