Thanks to the Continental GT3‘s recent victory on home soil at Silverstone in the second round of the Blancpain Endurance Series – Bentley‘s first top-tier victory in the UK in more than eight decades – the high-powered take on the V8 S is set to make its way to the streets with the introduction of the GT3-R. Expertly tuned by the Bentley Motorsport team, the special edition Continental adopts the racer’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 – capable of 572 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque – in conjunction with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and rear-biased AWD system offering torque vectoring to the rear wheels. Coupling the tweaks with a 200-lb weight reduction from that of the V8 S, the GT3-R accelerates up to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds before hitting a top speed of 170 mph. Additional details include the likes of an air suspension, carbon silicon carbide brake discs, 21” gloss black wheels, titanium exhaust, a carbon fiber front splitter, matching rear wing, hood cooling vents, and a slick Glacier White paint scheme with green accents. Inside, seating has been reconfigured to feature two racing buckets – crafted in carbon fiber and covered in Alcantara – while the dashboard and center console have both been redone with carbon fiber construction.
Order books for the Continental GT3-R are now open with delivery of the 300 production models slated to start before the end of the year.
