A few months ago we announced G-Star RAW’s latest foray into sustainable fashion with its Bionic Yarn collaboration curated by the awesomely creative mind of Pharrell Williams. “Raw for the Oceans” as it was introduced, weaves Bionic Yarn’s eco-thread fiber made from recycled plastic bottles found in our oceans into G-Star’s famous line of denim. This project was developed to bring awareness to the threat of plastic pollution as well as encourage other big names in the artistic world to follow suit. Now just three months from its official September release, we finally get our first look at the “Raw for the Oceans” collection consisting of outerwear, jeans, T-shirts and more, all constructed from Bionic Yarn. So far, the RFTO initiative has already transformed over 10 tons of ocean plastic into a very wearable collection of apparel.
