One of eight contributors to Converse’s recent “Clash Wall” installation in Amsterdam, Onno Poiesz is a visual artist living and working in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Working mainly with ceramics, Poiesz creates unique pieces and installations that carry a deeper, hidden meaning — his contribution to the “Clash Wall” project was an inviting bed, which, upon closer inspection, turned out to be ceramic. Given the nature of his preferred medium, the artist usually has on hand a selection of industrial tools, including an electric drill, screws, drill bits, ceramic tile spacers, and a hardy pair of gloves. Rounding out his kit are a can of spray paint, one of his ceramic pieces, an iPhone, and his hands — a must for any artist or craftsman. Check out his Essentials now and stay tuned for the next installment.
