Jamie xx – Girl

Last month, London-based crooner and producer James Blake took his BBC Radio 1 residency as a chance to unveil a track entitled “Bloke” by an unknown artist named “Simon Tallywhacker.” Now confirmed and titled “Girl” and the so-called Tallywhacker is Jamie xx. “Girl” as previously announced, will be featured on Jamie’s 12” single as a flip-side to “Sleep Sound.” Continuing the producer’s melodic use of percussions and hazy sample cues, “Girl” is another atmospheric effort toying with syncopated vocals and distant subs in its rendition.
