On May 7, legendary hip-hop collective D.I.T.C. will release The Remix Project, a compilation album containing past cuts reworked by other producers. The Alchemist was chosen to remix the O.C. & A.G. collaboration “We All,” and a better opening salvo could not have been selected. Whereas the original D.I.T.C. sound is a textbook example of Hip-Hop with capital H’s, the Alchemist remix of “We All” is more like what happens when two old-school emcees ditch their beat-maker and decide to use a mushroom-tripping orchestra to supply them with production. Keys and strings creep and slither all over the place on this selection, and the track is another example of why Alchemist is one of the strongest producers out there.
