It’s been 23 years since Jordan won his first NBA ring, but some things just get better with age. The upcoming release of the Air Jordan 6 “Black Infrared,” the very shoe Jordan wore during his first championship season, is proof of that. For 2014, the “Black Infrared” features a black nubuck upper, Infrared accents, a translucent outsole, and 3M detailing throughout. We also see some of the 6’s more unique design cues, like the oversized pull tab on the heel, which designer Tinker Hatfield modeled after Porsche’s “Whale Tail” spoiler. Twenty-three years and six championships since it debuted, the 6 remains a staple of Jordan’s championship legacy – because you never forget your first. Look for the Black/Infrared 23 Air Jordan 6 at the likes of Sneaker Politics for $185 USD just in time for Black Friday (November 28).
