Perhaps inspired by the likeness of a certain flatground competition trophy, Makoto Ishiwata and Subcrew have opened up a new exhibition in Hong Kong. Titled “CORE” or “Composed of Real Elements,” the show features beautifully executed sculptures made from recycled skateboards. The pieces range in subject from complex trophies and plant pots to wood-infused rings and clocks, each making creative use of a board’s colored plies. Check out photos from the exhibition above, and if in the Hong Kong area, be sure to stop by the “CORE” space – on display until October 15.
