For the fourth time in as many years, Nike honors Black History Month with a collection of elegantly-designed sneakers in predominately black, gold and purple colorways. This range is expected to serve as a reminder that athletes around the world representing the Nike brand have all at some point been inspired by the “legacy of Pan-African achievement.” Its theme – Sport Royalty – is a homage Nike’s kings and queens of sport, including LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Maya Moore and Allyson Felix amongst others. Though the BHM collection offers both footwear, apparel and equipment, we’re highlighting the selection of men’s sneakers that are expected to drop next month. The models that you see include the LeBron 11, LeBron 11 NSW, KD VI, Lunar Force 1, Dunk Low SB, Melo M10, and the AJ1 Mid. With 100% of the proceeds going to charity, the 2014 BHM collection will be available worldwide at select locations as well as Nike.com on February 1. Head over to Nike to peep the full press release.
