The latest unveiling from CES 2014 comes from MakerBot and its Replicator 3D printer series comprised of the Mini, Z18, and the mainstay Replicator. The newest creation – the Replicator Mini – is called a “consumer 3D printer” with one-touch printing that can also be linked to your mobile device via a Wi-Fi network. Moving up, the fifth generation Replicator has an 11% larger build volume, faster completion times, and a 100-micron layer resolution. And lastly, the larger Z18 has the capacity to make objects at 12x12x18 inches, whilst offering all of the same features as the two aforementioned models, including a built-in camera that can monitor the construction of your object. What’s more is that MakerBot has also updated its desktop and mobile apps to ease the controlling of your printer as well as send progress alerts.
