Arguably the pinnacle of small-sized, high-powered European crossovers is the brand new GLA45 AMG from Mercedes-Benz. The fourth high-performance SUV from Benz’s Affalterbach-based outfit, the all-wheel-drive GLA45 AMG – set for a public debut next week at the Detroit Auto Show – packs a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine capable of 355 horsepower, 332 lb-ft of torque, and acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.8 seconds. Boasting a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, the vehicle offers Manual, Sport and Comfort modes – not to mention a “Race Start” function, Curve Dynamic Assist to curb understeering, a variety of interior and wheel options, and even available sport tweaks to the suspension and exhaust. Stay tuned for additional info and concrete pricing following next week’s debut and, in the meantime, enjoy the above pics and a look at the 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLA45 AMG in action below.
