As the romance season begins to blossom, the love songs continue to present themselves. The latest comes in the form of Vampire Weekend‘s impressive rendition of Andrea Bocelli’s “Con Te Partirò.” Sung, very well might we add, entirely in Italian by front-man Ezra Koenig the New York band have given a unique twist to the classical piece by incorporating a reggae beat. Not the most typical pairing but definitely one we can appreciate. Koenig comments to Rolling Stone:
“Con te Partirò’ is one of the greatest love songs of all time. Its beauty transcends language. Thank you, Mr. Bocelli, for introducing us to this majestic gem.”
“Con Te Partirò” will be part of the Sweetheart 2014 compilation which will be out February 4.
