It’s not unheard of for a designer to try their hands at a different stream. One assumes there’s a lot of overlap and compatibility between graphic, industrial, interior, and even fashion design. So why should the jump from apparel to cars be any different? So thinks Nick Hart, tailor for menswear brand Spencer Hart. Hart has applied his sensibilities for visuals with his treatment of this Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG, dubbed the Shooting Brake. While his remodeling of the interior with specially sourced chocolate brown Italian leather and contrasting midnight blue stitching would certainly be within his element working with fabric, Hart doesn’t stop there. He’s exchanged the flash exterior chrome elements for matte black touches and has even mixed the unique shade of midnight blue applied to the car’s body himself. Touching off his foray into the automotive medium, the headrests are embroidered with the Spencer Hart logo. The car will officially be unveiled in the flesh at Spencer Hart’s upcoming runway show this coming Sunday.
