Today at their annual WWDC conference, Apple unveiled the torchbearer to their Mac family: the all-new Mac Pro. Set for release later this year, the Mac Pro improves upon contemporary designs of the desktop by combining more power into a smaller space. The most striking facet here might be the shape – an approximately 10” x 7” cylinder that houses 12 cores of processing power, up to 40GB/s of PCI Express bandwidth, 60GB/s of memory bandwidth (double the present Mac capabilities), and comes equipped with Thunderbolt 2: the latest I/O technology that allows for near infinite peripheral experience. Designed to the specifications of the very designers, writers and creators that primarily use Macs, the Mac Pro seems the ‘belle of the ball’ just making its debut into society.
