Two greatly-admired staples in their respective realms, Raf Simons and Fred Perry join forces for a Spring/Summer 2013 collection dubbed “Collage.” Toying with a juxtaposition of patterns and hues, the collection displays trademark motifs from both brands with Raf Simons’ post-modern aesthetic applied to Fred Perry’s recognizable polos, pullovers and bomber jackets. A revival of the labels’ joint ventures from previous seasons, the collection crosses over traditional features with forward-thinking embellishments — an example seen in the detachable polo shirt collar. As Raft Simmons suggests, “Collage – SS13 offers a very controlled and pure do-it-yourself attitude. The collection shows a juxtaposition of very different materials, prints and colours, therefore giving the wearer a possibility to combine the garments in different ways.”
