Fans of Michael Lau will be pleased to learn about the new Garden(palm)er series. The toy designer is releasing a mini version of the 12″ Gardener series where the toys are made exactly to 1/12 the size of the originals. This collaboration with How2work is the fulfillment of Lau’s dream for all his fans to be able to afford and own a full Gardener set. Hoping to make the toys more accessible, Lau has also developed the series in this size so that one can enjoy playing with them using their hands — hence “palmer.” Paying tribute to ’90s street culture that initially inspired the series, each Garden(palm)er comes packaged in a spray can as an ode to graffiti art. The toys are slated for a mid-November release in Asia at a suggested retail price of $399 HKD (approximately $51 USD) each.
