For his 11th NBA season King James will rest upon his throne with a new sword at his feet, forged by the smiths at Nike‘s innovation kitchen. Of course in the usage of the word ‘sword’ we’re referring to his 11th signature sneaker – the Nike LeBron 11. In its latest iteration, Nike drew inspiration from the centuries-old craft of metalworking in which blacksmiths would dip various forms of metal into ovens set to extreme temperatures and then hammer those pieces into a specific tool, be it for use in the kitchen or for wartime protection. The LeBron 11 “Forging Iron” shows an almost entirely atomic orange upper mixed with bright yellow accents, metallic silver emblems, and an icy blue outsole that sets the overall colorway to scorching levels of awesomeness. To top it all off, this special edition pair will come packaged in a slide-out box made with elastic materials and magnet closures. Unfortunately, little word has been delivered with regards to its release, but we can bet it’ll be quite limited. Stay tuned for more information.
