With a string of recent hits under her belt, Florence Welch, commonly known as Florence + The Machine, is currently in full sophomore album mode. Her producer Paul Epworth has now opened up about the much-anticipated followup to her 2009 debut Lungs. According to Epworth the new album is going to be a lot “heavier” and will be completed by the end of July. In addition, the songstress is straying away from her indie roots and offers a more experimental facet on the upcoming LP:
“It’s going to be more stripped down, but it’s heavy, rhymically. It’s a much heavier record than the first album. It’s a lot less indie and lot more soulful.”
The album is currently being recorded at London’s legendary Abbey Road Studios. Stay tuned.
