Weezer - You Might Think (Cars Cover)

It seems Weezer has been focused on paying homage through song as of late. Last week, the Grammy Award-winning band let loose a cover of the Radiohead classic, “Paranoid Android,” and this week they’ve returned with another rendition of a well-known song from the past. But instead of just laying down a live studio performance of this song as they did with the former, the new track was recorded for a popular children’s film that will hit theaters at the end of this month. The band took on the The Cars’ 1984 hit, “You Might Think,” and it’s probably not a coincidence that the song will be one of the highlights of the Cars 2 soundtrack. Give it a listen now, and if you happen to be planning to see the movie, look out for it during the scene in which the King of Cool’s namesake automobile, Lightning McQueen, heads to Japan.
