What started as a rumor has now become official. High off the success of her viral video “Gucci Gucci,” Oakland native Kreayshawn has signed with Columbia Records. The 21-year-old, who directed videos for Soulja Boy and Lil B, plans to release her single to digital retailers on June 14 followed by her debut album later this year. Kreayshawn, born Natassia Zolot, issued the following statement:
“I’m excited to work with my new Columbia family. They understand my vision and are going to let me continue everything I’ve been doing. My hope is to inspire others to be young, wild, and free. I’m a piece of shit but, I am raw talent. Nothing but, unfiltered pain and torture I received as a child in the cold world. Nothing’s nice about my style. I just got shit to do. Art is my means to my hustle. I just wanna share everything with everyone.”
However, it has not been reported if this deal is worth “over a million dollars.”
