Nike innovation has hit an extraordinary high this year due to all the technology that is being introduced as the 2008 Beijing Olympics approach. Having spent many years on this project, Nike introduces the Rejuven8, a combination sneaker that stems from the design aesthetics of the Air Presto, Zvezdockha, Air Kukini, Sock Racer and Air Huarache. The Rejuven8 features upper breathability with amazing comfort and performance, not to mention having interchangeable liners. To commemorate the 2008 Olympics, these will be part of a special series featuring an Olympic ring colored liner and Beijing shoe bag. Another pair of denim is dropping to coincide with Original Fake’s latest anniversary, this time featuring a much more bold and forward design as the Chomper pattern is seen across the back pockets. The suggested retail price is set at ¥ 33,600 JPY (approximately $321 USD).

MSTRPLN X Ubiq Custom Nike Dunk Low "A Step in the Right Direction"

Being Geeky seems to be in fashion now, Montreal designer Stefan Dukaczewski of MSTRPLN worked with Ubiq to create some geek chic sneakers in the “A Step in the Right Direction” project. These unique Dunk Low prototypes have been re-engineered for the ASRD project, the silhouette of the classic Dunks is kept but is fitted with stealthier features, like the flap on top of the shoe and a new lacing system allowing for both conventional and internal lacing. All the electronic components are housed in the left shoe flap stamped with the MSTRPLN logo. This wearable technology features an integrated 802.11 Wi-Fi detector and 3 LED indicator display lights. The ASRDs is rated for a 50 foot Wi-Fi hotspot detection zone and triggered by a pressure sensitive insole. There is no word on the availability of these Wi-Fi integrated sneakers yet.
