Nike’s original basketball shoe the Blazer has returned in a simple form with the release of these three black colorways. The spectrum of colors ranges from pure black to slightly more liberal black/white and finally rounding off with black/blue joint, albeit still very much wearable on a day to day basis with anything. The innovative Japanese brand SAGLiFE originally started up as a venture in 2003 by DJ Ichigo. The brand has seen its bags hit various segments including street and snow with a fledging apparel line coming up alongside. A look at their 2008 spring/summer collection includes a series of collaborative bags with skate label FTC.

Being Geeky seems to be in fashion now, Montreal designer Stefan Dukaczewski of MSTRPLN worked with Ubiq to create some geek chic sneakers in the “A Step in the Right Direction” project. These unique Dunk Low prototypes have been re-engineered for the ASRD project, the silhouette of the classic Dunks is kept but is fitted with stealthier features, like the flap on top of the shoe and a new lacing system allowing for both conventional and internal lacing. All the electronic components are housed in the left shoe flap stamped with the MSTRPLN logo. This wearable technology features an integrated 802.11 Wi-Fi detector and 3 LED indicator display lights. The ASRDs is rated for a 50 foot Wi-Fi hotspot detection zone and triggered by a pressure sensitive insole. There is no word on the availability of these Wi-Fi integrated sneakers yet.
Large Japanese retailer United Arrows has shown a more casual side with this latest team up with Converse on their 1986 hardcourt hit, the Weapon Hi. Without venturing too far off their established path of sophistication and refinement, three solid colorways reflective of their style include black, gray and navy blue. Foreign Family’s Mr44 and Johnny Punishment of FF Dropout will present a series of personal art next week. The showcase will go hand in hand with a preview of Foreign Family’s 2008 summer collection. Foreign Family’s illustrations have always been held in high regard over here on the shoulders of the complexity of their graphics and their reoccurring fish themes. The event will take place May 10th in Los Angeles.
