Nike Adds Four More Sneakers to Its 'Fortnite' Lineup
You can now dress your avatar in the Air Force 1 Low “Bronx Origins,” Blazer ‘77 Mid “Washed Denim,” Mercurial Superfly Elite 10 “Mad Voltage” and Pegasus 41 “Hot Punch.”
After an extensive release of virtual “kicks” less than a week ago, Nike and Fortnite are further bolstering their digital sneaker roster by adding four more models to the in-game lineup. Included in the offering are the Air Force 1 Low “Bronx Origins,” a 2022 release that nodded to both the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, the 40th anniversary of the Air Force 1 and the model’s enduring popularity in the borough — in a serendipitous twist, Kai Cenat, the first streamer to ever get a Nike sponsorship is from the Bronx — the Blazer Mid ‘77 “Washed Denim,” the Mercurial Superfly 10 Elite “Mad Voltage” and the Pegasus 41 “Hot Punch.”
Each pair in the digital quartet can be purchased now via V-Bucks, Fortnite‘s virtual currency, and are compatible with over 500 of the game’s existing skins (the game’s developers have noted that they aim for the shoes to be compatible with over 95% of the game’s skins by spring 2025). The Air Force 1 Low “Bronx Origins” costs 1,000 V-Bucks, while the Blazer Mid ‘77 “Washed Denim,” Mercurial Superfly 10 Elite “Mad Voltage” and Pegasus 41 “Hot Punch” will run you 800 V-bucks each. For a real-life price comparison, 1,000 V-Bucks can usually be had for $9 USD outside of any sales or special promotions. Currently, there’s also a free, shoe-centric “Show ‘Em Off” emote available as well.
