Snapchat Is Selling Spectacles Video Glasses Like They're Vending Machine Snacks
The “Snapbots” have arrived.
Back in late September, Snapchat officially introduced its first take on hardware in the form of video glasses known as Spectacles. The anticipated product allows for creation of 10-second, circular video clips through a 115-degree lens, and connects with your smartphone via Bluetooth. For their debut in the vast hardware market, Snapchat has decided to go down a pretty unique, strange road to sell their glasses; at present time, Spectacles are only available for purchase through mobile yellow vending machines dubbed Snapbots. While Snapchat’s official description reveals that Snapbots “never seem to stay in one location for too long,” the machine’s locations can easily be tracked at the Spectacles website’s “Find a Bot” section.
