maharishi 2016 Spring/Summer "Morph Cycle" Video Lookbook Part 2
Judaic priest meets army commando.
Following on from the first part of maharishi’s Spring/Summer 2016 video lookbook, we present the second installment to the visual exploration of the pacifist streetwear brand’s theme of “Post-Geographic Devotional Uniform & Habits.” However, whereas the outfits seen in part one were heavily inspired by the religious garb of Roman Catholic priests, Thai Buddhist monks and the Knights Templar, this latter half of the collection leans heavily towards military influences as seen in the drab olives and khaki-colored technical rain jackets, overcoats, and field jackets. Camouflage — a maharishi staple — makes a showing in several standard sweatshirts, while a reinterpreted DPM: British Bonsai white-and-orange print makes for a loud wet-weather ensemble incorporating a poncho and sweatpants. Finally, to further reinforce the fact that maharishi uses camouflage as an expression of nature and art, rather than as a tool by which to conceal oneself from an enemy, all the camouflage styles found in this collection are fully reversible, enabling the pattern to be also worn internally.
