Kendrick Lamar Drops Triumphant "Not Like Us" Music Video
“Disclaimer: No OVHOEs were harmed during the making of this video.”
Two months ago, Kendrick Lamar dropped “Not Like Us” — a damning diss track targeting Drake and his OVO crew. It arrived amidst the ongoing feud between him and Drake, and ultimately served as the final nail in the coffin for the beef as the world has been exclaiming lyrics like “Certified Lover Boy? Certified pedophile,” and “Tryna strike a chord and it’s probably A minor,” ever since it released.
While Drake proceeded to bow out of the duel, Lamar went on to break Spotify streaming records, including one of Drake’s, and then hosted his Ken & Friends show in Los Angeles, bringing out 25 Los Angeles-based artists to perform their hits. Of course, Lamar went on to perform his own tracks and concluded the show with five renditions of “Not Like Us.”
Now, Lamar has shared a music video for the song, clocking in at just under six-minutes. The intro to the video features a snippet of what may be a new track, which fans are hoping is connected to Lamar’s next album. From there, Tommy the Clown runs “Not Like Us” back yet again. Later on, Lamar is seen breaking an owl-shaped piñata with the caption “Disclaimer: No OVHOEs were harmed during the making of this video.”
Drake may have tried to sow conflict between Lamar and those closest to him by implying that Lamar’s wife cheated on him with Dave Free. However, Lamar demonstrates that this hasn’t disrupted things, as Dave Free co-directed the music video with Lamar, and Lamar’s family is seen dancing to the track in the video.
Stay tuned for updates regarding a potential rollout of Lamar’s next project as we eagerly await what’s next from the superstar.
