Apple Vision Pro users will soon be able to immerse themselves within Marvel’s What If…? The animated show premiered on Disney+ in 2021, envisioning a Multiverse in which there are alternative outcomes for MCU storylines. The debut episode, for instance, imagined what would happen if “Captain Carter were the first Avenger?”

Adapted for the headset, the game version of What if…? uses mixed reality to let players experience the twists and turns of the stories, previewed with a trailer.

“Time, space, reality,” a narrator says in a voiceover. “It’s more than a linear path.”

Players will be tasked with helping the Watcher with fighting off “dangerous variants” that have manifested in the Multiverse. They’ll step into MCU environments both new and old, using their eyes and hands to interact with the world around them with the experience being made even more immersive through spatial audio.

Available on the Apple Vision Pro on May 30, What If…? will debut as a free app for a limited time.
