The current Formula 1 season is accelerating into the history books. From Japan to Australia and Saudi Arabia, Red Bull champion Max Verstappen continues to dominate the track, while Lando Norris celebrated his inaugural first-place win on the podium under the Miami sunshine. All 22 drivers will start their engines in Monaco this weekend, returning to the curved circuit by the seaside. As one of the most challenging and popular trails, the fashion crowd will make themselves known at the yacht-lined venue.

As Formula 1 has rapidly increased in popularity, its intersection with fashion has continued to shift gears. Palm Angels is at the forefront of Formula 1 fashion, having become revered for setting the pace in game-changing pit fits.

The Italian luxury brand shares its fascination with high-speed motorsports alongside the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team, joining the MoneyGram team for three graphic-heavy collaborations with winded checkered flag illustrations. Creative Director Francesco Ragazzi stepped toward the finish line at the Miami Grand Prix, debuting two special projects on the race track ranging from collectible tees to team-specific Alpinestars outerwear.

Palm Angels will continue its paddock evolution in Monaco, with the brand set to launch an exclusive regional F1 top from its 13-part series. Ragazzi will salute his journey with premium sake brand HEAVENSAKE, clinking glasses in honor of an exclusive Roquebrune-Cap-Martin gathering, joined by F1 drivers, fans, and enthusiasts alike.

Ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix, Hypebeast spoke with Palm Angels founder Francesco Ragazzi about his fascination for F1, his evolving MoneyGram Haas F1 Team partnership, and making moves in Monaco with HeavenSake.

Hypebeast: How have you merged Palm Angels’ identity with global F1 culture?

Francesco Ragazzi: I have been a fan of F1 since I was a child. I used to watch it with my father every weekend. I truly recognize the shared values between Palm Angels and motorsport as a culture of excellence, a relentless pursuit of innovation, a global fanbase passionate about dynamism, and a sense of community that celebrates personal identity.

In this shared space, I infused Palm Angels’ unique flair in it: contemporary, high-quality streetwear, crafted with precision, blending lightness with unparalleled style. When we release our Collectible T-shirts for each Grand Prix or a new drop of the racing collection, we’re not just offering a product but rather transforming race memorabilia into a statement. This project really embodies our essence.

What work and collaborations with F1 has Palm Angels completed in the past?

Our fascination with motorsports imagery and shared values led us to create a capsule collection with the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team. We captured the essence of life in the paddocks and on the track, translating it into clothing inspired by racing but with a distinct streetstyle vibe.

In addition to this collection, we launched a Collectible T-shirt collection celebrating the most thrilling races, preserving their excitement and memories. These recurring global events have given us the chance to introduce a new T-shirt for each Grand Prix and celebrate the race with some impactful events. For instance, at the Monza Grand Prix last year, we brought a single-seater to the heart of Milan, symbolizing our Italian roots and urban DNA fused with the thrill of speed.

“We captured the essence of life in the paddocks and on the track.”

How did Palm Angels celebrate the collection launch in Miami?

The Miami weekend was electrifying, filled with diverse activities beyond the launch of our Miami Grand Prix dedicated T-shirt. We immersed ourselves in the motorsport vibe, customizing the MoneyGram Haas F1 paddock and garage corridors with a special palm tree design, creating a unique ambiance.

That weekend, we also unveiled a new partnership within our collaboration with the team: a leather driver’s jacket made with Alpinestars, featuring a striking black palm tree pattern on a red field and our gothic logo. Off the track, our newly renovated store showcased dedicated windows, and of course, we threw an incredible beachfront villa party, welcoming friends of the house, VIPs, drivers, and key opinion leaders.

How will Palm Angels continue to tell this story in Monte Carlo?

Monte Carlo is one of the season’s highlights, a thrilling challenge on a unique street circuit during a time when everyone dreams of being on the Riviera. We’ll present our dedicated Monaco collectible tee, part of our series of 13 “Collectible” T-shirts. In collaboration with Heavensake, we’re hosting an exclusive party at Villa Miramar, in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. This event is tailored for the global audience gathered in Monaco for the Grand Prix, pilots, models, showbiz personalities, and influencers.

We have handpicked top artists from the Electronic Dance Music scene to bring their eclectic and distinctive styles to the party. With a mix of house, techno, melodic elements, and various influences, our unique sets aim to achieve the Better High feeling—a blend of joy, playfulness, and elevation that embodies the essence of Heaven Sake and resonates with the Palm Angels community.

How does the collection continue to tap into racing culture and history?

Our involvement has deepened with each race, driven by growing enthusiasm. Our collaboration with MoneyGram Haas F1 Team has expanded to include tracksuits, jackets, and accessories that capture the pilots’ and paddock’s details, colors, and lines. This deeper engagement led to our latest project unveiled in Miami: the driver’s jacket with Alpinestars, a legendary motorsport name. It’s not just merchandise but a bold statement, incorporating our signature palm tree pattern on a rider’s jacket, unexpected yet perfectly aligned with our brand’s ethos.

Following the season, we have special activations in the cities hosting the races we’ve chosen for our dedicated T-shirts, bringing our attitude to life. To name but a few, after Monaco, we’re heading to other key cities such as Barcelona, Silverstone, Monza, and Las Vegas.
