It has been almost ten years since the passing of one great Dondi White. Despite his unfortunate passing in 1998, he left behind him the tools and inspirations for others to carry on his legacy well into the future. His list of accomplishments include his one man show which toured around Holland and Germany. Dondi White was able to bring something often seen in a negative light to the surface and gain worldwide recognition for the art of graffiti. Despite losing his battle with AIDS, it’s no doubt that his character and disposition made him a perfect candidate for Converse’s (RED) program which contributes to various humanitarian efforts around the world.
The Archeology Rewards taking place earlier this month brought together an exhibition of Dondi White art as well as other products including Bodega x Converse (RED) Pro Leather Oxford and Bodega x Montana Colors. Each product enabled a portion of all sales to go towards various philanthropic causes, something that Dondi White himself held in strong regard.
