PlayStation unveils its Prism Collection of translucent DualSense controllers and matching PS5 covers.

Flare Orange, Emerald Green and Graphite Gray revive nostalgic '90s gaming aesthetics.

Launching February 4, 2027, controllers cost around $85 USD, with preorders beginning November 10, 2026.

Transparent gaming hardware is making a comeback as PlayStation revisits one of the most recognizable design trends of the late 1990s with its new Prism Collection. The latest lineup introduces three translucent colorways for the DualSense wireless controller and matching PlayStation 5 console covers, offering a nostalgic yet futuristic interpretation of Sony’s current-generation hardware.

Available in Flare Orange, Emerald Green and Graphite Gray, each design features a high-gloss, see-through shell that offers a glimpse of the technology beneath. Flare Orange delivers a vibrant finish that takes on subtle rosy tones where the transparent materials overlap, while Emerald Green adopts a deeper hunter-green hue with a silky appearance. Graphite Gray offers a more understated alternative, pairing a cool-toned, smoky exterior with the collection’s glossy finish.

Across all three designs, a contrasting metallic center panel brings a refined touch to the controllers, balancing their exposed internal details with the PS5’s streamlined industrial aesthetic. According to PlayStation’s Color, Material and Finish design team, the collection was developed in response to fans’ enthusiasm for the return of transparent controllers, drawing inspiration from the see-through electronics that defined gaming culture in the late ’90s.

The Prism Collection is scheduled to launch globally starting February 4, 2027, with regional availability varying by market. DualSense controllers are priced at $85 USD each, while matching console covers retail for $75 USD. Preorders begin November 10, 2026, in participating markets, with the collection available through PlayStation Direct where supported and select retailers.
