Kiko Kostadinov and ASICS have unveiled the ILARGI FF Boot, the fourth and final chapter of the pair’s 2026 Tabi series. Rendered in “Obsidian Black,” the split-toe design takes its cue from the workwear boots of Japan and retools a lineup of performance references into a full boot silhouette, giving the year-long Tabi project a definitive closer.

Underneath that split-toe profile sits a hybrid foundation built from three distinct reference points. Traditional Japanese Tabi workwear sets the overall shape, details lifted from wrestling footwear inform its athletic character, and the underlying construction comes from the GEL-Nepxa, the 2019 model from Kostadinov’s ASICS catalog. Together, those inputs push what began as running and training technology into something sturdier and boot-shaped.

Most of the visual interest lives on the upper, where leather embossed with a fine linear pattern runs alongside panels of striped technical fabric stacked over mesh. That fabric-on-mesh layering takes its material logic from the ASICS METASPEED, and setting it against the textured leather creates a deliberate clash of surfaces that keeps the boot’s performance roots in plain view.

Dressed in “Obsidian Black,” the ILARGI FF Boot also serves as the endpoint for the split-toe form Kiko Kostadinov has been refining across its ILARGI and LYASA designs. Where those earlier pairs explored the Tabi shape in shoe form, this release carries the idea into boot territory and brings the series to a clean finish.
