Maison Margiela and NUDAKE Serve Tea With a Deconstructed Twist

Summary
Maison Margiela and NUDAKE reinterpret tea rituals through deconstructed porcelain and shared forms.
Bianchetto finishes, warped rims and joined saucers define the “OOPS” aesthetic.
The collection launches October 30 at NUDAKE TEAHOUSE in Seoul.
Maison Margiela and NUDAKE are turning tea time into an exercise in controlled imperfection. Dubbed “OOPS,” the pair’s first collaboration takes the Maison’s deconstructive codes away from fashion and applies them to porcelain, tea and the ritual of sharing a pot.
Much of the collection is washed in Margiela’s signature Bianchetto treatment, giving otherwise familiar tea objects a deliberately unfinished, timeworn character. A sculptural teapot anchors the range with a metal ring at its lid and the house’s recognizable four-stitch detail pressed into its body, while accompanying cups distort the expected symmetry of traditional teaware through gently warped rims and a joined double saucer intended for two.
That idea of two people sharing one experience runs through more than the ceramics. NUDAKE’s accompanying Oops black tea takes inspiration from the image of a dark crimson plum being crushed beneath a leather shoe, translating the scene into a blend layered with delicate herbs, sweet fruit and earthy notes. An Oops Tea Bag physically joins two sachets together so that two cups can be steeped at once, while two limited Oops Loose Leaf editions extend the blend into collectible tins.
A co-branded tea tumbler rounds out the functional pieces, carrying the same pared-back white finish into a more everyday format. Across the collection, Margiela’s preference for disrupting archetypes meets NUDAKE’s more playful approach to food and sensory design, making the smallest irregularities — a crooked rim, an exposed stitch or a shared saucer — central to the experience.
Maison Margiela x NUDAKE “OOPS” launches on October 30, 2026 at 11 a.m. KST, with the collection offered through the NUDAKE TEAHOUSE at HAUS NOWHERE SEOUL in Seongsu-dong. The release will also be accompanied by an installation built from roughly 1,500 glasses and a glass-harp performance by Polish artists GlassDuo, extending the collaboration’s themes of chance, sound and imperfect beauty into the surrounding space.
