MAMMUT and BEAMS are reviving the Swiss outdoor brand’s Serac Extreme Jacket through the “SERAC EXTREME JACKET BEAMS SPECIAL,” a limited reissue that stays faithful to the original while folding in present-day performance and BEAMS-exclusive touches. The shell carries real expedition credentials, having protected climber Stephan Siegrist through harsh conditions during his December 1995 push into the peaks of Patagonia.
The jacket’s pattern sticks closely to the first-generation Serac Extreme, keeping the overall shape that earned it a reputation in alpine circles. Rather than chase a full redesign, the reissue upgrades what sits beneath the surface, with a GORE-TEX build bringing the waterproof, weather-blocking protection expected from a modern hardshell.
Branding is split across the sleeves to reflect the partnership. An oversized MAMMUT logo runs along the left arm, while the right sleeve carries embroidered BEAMS lettering, giving each label its own side of the jacket without crowding the body.
