Jacob & Co. has officially revealed the updated Palatial Flying Tourbillon Minute Repeater, celebrating 12 years since its first chiming model and marking the brand’s 40th anniversary in 2026. Limited to just 12 pieces worldwide—one for each year since the original model’s 2014 debut—the high-complication timepiece revisits the maison’s inaugural minute repeater with technical upgrades and refined aesthetics.
Housed in a 43mm 18K rose gold case measuring 12.3mm thick, the watch is driven by the manually wound Caliber JCCM04, built from 308 components and operating at 3 Hz with a 90-hour power reserve. Activated via a caseband slide, the minute repeater utilizes two hammers striking hand-tuned cathedral gongs to chime the hours, quarter-hours, and minutes. A newly engineered silent centrifugal governor controls the striking cadence without mechanical noise, while a 60-second flying tourbillon sits at 6 o’clock within a redesigned cage architecture.
The watch’s connection to sound carries directly onto its red mineral crystal dial, which features applied 18K rose gold hour markers. Musical design details include a brushed 18K rose gold G clef appliqué positioned at 9 o’clock alongside skeletonized hands shaped like metronomes. The architecture of the movement and hand-polished Côtes de Genève finishing remain visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, with the watch completed by an alligator leather strap and 18K rose gold pin buckle.
