At a purpose-built set at Château de Vincennes, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez presented their third LOEWE collection on October 2. Against the stark white backdrop, the clean yet energetic SS27 collection unfurled, refining their colorful, sport-forward vision of the Spanish label.
Across the board, LOEWE introduced a highly wearable lineup characterized by slick materials, a bold summer color palette, and subtle yet interesting logo placements. Rather than ornamentation, the textiles and colors are what made these looks stand out.
Minty green, yellow, blue, and red-orange dominated the overall color spectrum of the collection, while summer stripes and florals brought occasional texture. On several looks, where one would expect a leather or corduroy collar, there’s instead a metallic collar with exuberant gradients of orange and blue, matching wrap-style sunglasses styled throughout the show.
Other outerwear styles continued to the sport-oriented aesthetic of the previous collections, as seen in a number of shell jackets, utility coats, and anoraks. Notably, small LOEWE tags were sewn onto the flies of pants, offered in turquoise, gray, red, and olive. Discreet LOEWE logos also appeared on the toe box of new scuba-style moccasins, offered in a selection of colors like tan, black, pink, and yellow. The aquatic theme continues in a range of branded leather caps resembling swimming caps.
Joining the logo trousers were some more unconventional pant styles featuring blooming flies, flaring out above the waist. The trousers were a bridge to the more revealing looks in womenswear: an ultra-mini leather dress, sheer spaghetti-strap dresses rolled up to the chest, and sheer tank dresses, made in layers of blue, yellow, and red-orange. The show closed with some of the most ornamental pieces, including boucle mini dresses and hotpants with frayed floral embroidery.
