Ib Kamara Exits Off-White™

Ib Kamara and Off-White™ mutually parted ways, concluding the designer’s tenure as creative director. Kamara, a close collaborator of the late Virgil Abloh, formally took the helm in Spring 2022. The CEO of Bluestar Alliance, Joey Gabbay, thanked Kamara in an official statement: “We are deeply grateful for Ib’s vision, creativity, and the remarkable energy he brought to Off-White throughout his tenure. Ib’s contributions have been instrumental in shaping and evolving the brand, and we sincerely thank him for his dedication and lasting impact.” During his run, Kamara spearheaded notable milestones, including Off-White™’s first New York fashion show in Brooklyn and the launch of the more accessible L/AB c/o Off-White line. The house has not yet named a successor.

The Met Cancels John Galliano Exhibition

The Metropolitan Museum of Art officially cancels its planned Spring 2026 Costume Institute exhibition, “John Galliano: Horizons,” following widespread backlash regarding the designer’s 2011 racist remarks. In a joint statement, Galliano, Anna Wintour, and curator Andrew Bolton confirmed the mutual decision not to proceed. Galliano expressed regret and took accountability for his past words, while Wintour offered her full support for the cancellation. John Galliano wrote an extended remark, saying, “After much reflection and discussion with The Met and all those involved, I have decided, with great sadness, that it is best for the exhibition not to take place at this time,” he said. “I remain fully accountable for the pain caused by my words in the past, particularly the hurt I caused to the Jewish and Asian communities, and I remain deeply sorry for it.”

Fakemink and Skepta’s First Collaboration Is in the New Stone Island Campaign

Stone Island’s ongoing “Community as a Form of Research” campaign returns with a new roster of cultural tastemakers. The latest visual series stars fakemink, Skepta, Stephen Graham, 3House, Samir Bantal, Monika Sprüth, and Jia Zhang-Ke. Photographed by David Sims and styled by Max Pearmain, the cast members don a range of Stone Island outerwear, from fakemink’s glossy resin-treated jacket to Stephen Graham’s monochromatic rubberized lambskin piece, answering a questionnaire curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist.

Take an Inside Look at ‘Dressing Up,’ Sandy Liang’s First Rizzoli Monograph

New York designer Sandy Liang chronicles over a decade of her namesake label in Dressing Up: Sandy Liang, a 276-page hardcover monograph published by Rizzoli. “Sharing my life through my work feels intuitive for me – one does not feel complete without the other. This scrapbook of memories captures a decade of the brand through that lens,” Liang shared in the official release. Sourcing heavily from previously unpublished personal film and iPhone photography, the book acts as an intimate scrapbook detailing Liang’s runway moments, downtown New York inspirations, and her signature nostalgia-driven aesthetic. The project features contributions from creative director Ava Nirui and stylist Dean DiCriscio.

The Air Jordan 1 Was Reimagined by Eight Finalists & This One Won

Beijing-based designer Syn Zhuang wins the inaugural Jordan Design Studio program, a global initiative challenging creatives to reimagine the classic Air Jordan 1. Selected at Jordan’s “The One” event in Shanghai, Zhuang’s concept strips back the iconic silhouette to cater specifically to female wearers. Her design features a softer, rounded toe box and a transformable suede collar that reveals a backward Swoosh when worn up, offering a versatile and comfortable take on the famously sleek basketball sneaker. On her personal Instagram page, Zhuang shared more insight: “A classic doesn’t have to be one fixed form. It can exist in different ways, to reach different people. I wanted this shoe to offer a little sense of ease — not laziness, not giving up, just a feeling that it’s okay to loosen up and be yourself.”

PORTER Is Back in NYC With a Five-Day Pop-Up

YOSHIDA & Co. returns to New York with the PORTER LIMITED STORE, a five-day pop-up in SOHO running through September 6.
