Summary

  • Supreme’s CCO departed after 22 years, while Palace Skateboards and Reese Cooper expanded with new retail spaces.

  • Fugazi dropped a canceled collaboration with Vans for just $5.

  • Reebok debuted 3D-printed kicks, and Awake NY delivered bootleg-inspired luxury Air Jordan 6s.

How a Cancelled Fugazi x Vans Collab Led to $5 USD Shoes

When Vans canceled its highly anticipated collaboration with streetwear label Fugazi, the brand took matters into its own hands with a bold move. The initial partnership drew heavy backlash from fans of the anti-consumerist punk band also named Fugazi, who deemed the project tone-deaf. Vans executives quickly terminated the deal to respect the band’s ethos. Unfazed, the clothing brand launched a discreet, cash-only drop from a branded van in New York and Los Angeles. Despite the corporate ax, the shoes were sold to massive, eager crowds for a mere $5 USD. Fugazi cheekily blurred out the footwear in all release photos, adding a final rebellious wink to the defunct campaign.

Supreme Chief Creative Officer Steps Down After 22 Years

Erin Magee stepped down as Supreme’s Chief Creative Officer, closing a monumental 22-year chapter with the New York streetwear giant. The designer, who joined the label in 2004, announced her departure on Instagram. Magee played a pivotal role in shaping Supreme’s identity, but she’s now expected to shift focus to Mademe, her women’s streetwear label founded in 2007. Her exit adds another layer of uncertainty to Supreme’s recent instability, which included multiple corporate buyouts and the controversial departure of former Creative Director Tremaine Emory. With the creative director position already vacant, Magee’s departure leaves significant questions about who may steer the iconic brand’s future vision.

Palace Skateboards to Open Third South Korean Store in Seoul

Palace Skateboards has announced plans to officially open its third offline store in South Korea with Palace Jamsil on August 22. Nestled inside the capital city’s largest shopping mall. The store’s interior reportedly draws architectural inspiration from a South Korean UNESCO World Heritage Site. To celebrate the flagship opening, Palace will release an exclusive collection available only on-site at the Jamsil location. The expansion plan further solidifies the label’s growing following within the Asian streetwear market.

Reese Cooper Opens RC Outdoor Supply Retail Store in Los Angeles

Reese Cooper has expanded his retail footprint by opening the first physical RC Outdoor Supply store in Los Angeles. Located in Silverlake, the 806-square-foot flagship was designed in collaboration with creative studio PlayLab Inc. to serve as the home base for the designer’s outdoor-focused apparel and RCI footwear. The brick-and-mortar space brings Cooper’s function-driven pieces engineered for harsh environments into an IRL environment — including his taped-seam shell jackets, insulated outerwear, and trademarked Hook hardware. Operating daily, the outpost brings his blend of Americana heritage and technical trail readiness directly to the Southern California community.

Reebok and Zellerfeld Unveil the 3D-Printed Question 96/26

Reebok and Zellerfeld have come together, transforming Allen Iverson’s first signature sneaker into the 3D-printed Question 96/26. This futuristic style kicks off the 30th-anniversary celebrations for the original Reebok Question released in 1996. The refreshed and remodelled footwear maintained the classic sweeping proportions and iconic honeycomb cushioning geometry, but updated with a fluid, digitally native structure. Released in “Lilac” and “Stone,” the shoes brought the recognizable heritage silhouette into the growing 3D-printed ecosystem. The Reebok Question 96/26 drops in limited quantities on August 25, 2026, at 12 p.m. ET, available exclusively via Zellerfeld for $169 USD.

Awake NY and Jordan Brand Flip Bootleg Culture for AJ6 Collaboration

Jordan Brand and Awake NY celebrated the Air Jordan 6‘s 35th anniversary with the release of a new capsule deeply inspired by New York bootleg culture. Inspired by founder Angelo Baque’s early memories of street market knockoffs, the design subverted the sneaker’s codes with exaggerated color blocking and unconventional stitching. Despite the bootleg aesthetic, the craftsmanship remained strictly premium, utilizing Saffiano leather, Game Royal nubuck, and vibrant Infrared 23 detailing. The collaboration also featured a full ready-to-wear apparel capsule, including a matching tracksuit and an elevated polo. An online EQL raffle for the Awake NY x Air Jordan 6 sneaker opens on August 23, 2026. The full capsule will officially release on August 24, 2026, dropping online via Awake NY as well as in-store at its NYC location.
