The pop star has also stepped down from her role in the West End revival of 'Sunday in the Park with George'

Grande recently released her new album 'Petal' on July 31 and will appear in the upcoming film 'Focker-in-Law' on November 25

Ariana Grande is stepping back from the public eye following the conclusion of her Eternal Sunshine tour on September 1. First reported by People via an exclusive statement from her representative, the decision comes as public scrutiny surrounding her health and appearance continues to intensify.

According to her representative, Grande looks forward to ending her tour on a high note before taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances. A source close to the singer emphasized that Grande performs a highly physical show at an elite athletic level night after night despite ongoing public commentary regarding her body. Grande’s official statement regarding her choice to step back reads, “Ariana will be taking a step back from visibility after she completes the Eternal Sunshine Tour. She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny. This tour has been a beautiful experience for her. She loves her fans and has loved every minute of this tour so much.”

As part of her step back, Grande will no longer appear in London’s West End revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George, which was slated to open at the Barbican Centre next summer alongside Jonathan Bailey. The news follows the July 31 release of her latest album, Petal, which an insider described as an anthem addressing the toxicity of public discourse. While stepping away from live performances, Grande is scheduled to appear in the upcoming feature comedy Focker-in-Law, slated for theatrical release on November 25.
