Razer is taking it back to where it all started and relaunching its very first gaming mouse – the Boomslang. But this is no ordinary re-release: marking two decades since the company was officially formed in 2005, the “Razer Boomslang 20th Anniversary Edition” is a highly limited special-edition with only 1,337 units being made, each of which costs a cool $1,337 USD.
The original Boomslang was ahead of its time when it first released in 1999, boasting then-unheard-of precision and a distinctive translucent shell that quickly became a cult favorite among early PC gamers. The updated mouse retains the original’s retro-futurist DNA, but the brand has rebuilt it with contemporary internals to ensure it’s as competitive today as it was back then.
Under the hood, the 20th anniversary edition Boomslang is equipped with Razer’s Focus Pro 45K Optical Sensor Gen-2, HyperPolling Wireless support and Gen-4 Optical Mouse Switches, bringing elite-level performance into a shape rooted in gaming history. The ambidextrous form remains faithful to the original, updated with premium materials, including PU leather button accents and nine-zone Razer Chroma RGB underglow. A Wireless Charging Dock Pro is also included, completing the setup.
Positioned squarely between archival throwback and a high-performance collector’s item, the “Razer Boomslang 20th Anniversary Edition” serves as both a tribute to the brand’s origins and a statement on how far gaming hardware has evolved. Aimed at its most dedicated fans and collectors, each of the release’s 1,337 units will also be individually numbered – a knowing nod to classic “leet” gaming culture.
To ensure its fans across the globe have a chance at acquiring one, Razer is opening three separate preorder windows through its website: February 10 at 8AM PT for its American fans, February 11 at 8AM SGT for its fans in Asia, and February 11 at 8AM CET for those in Europe.
