Grand Seiko has introduced two new 33mm additions to its Heritage Collection, the SBGX361and SBGX359, both channeling the winter landscapes of Shinshu, Japan. These models feature the brand’s celebrated Skyflake and Snowflake dials, inspired by the snow-covered Hotaka mountain range.
The Skyflake variation on the SBGX361 offers a gentle light-blue hue, evoking the image of shimmering snow beneath a clear winter sky. As for the SBGX359, its Snowflake dial captures the rugged texture and pure whiteness of the snow-covered Hotaka mountain range using a specialized process of silver-plating and clear coating, accented by a tempered blue steel seconds hand.
At the heart of both watches is the newly developed Caliber 9F51, the first new addition to the 9F quartz family in six years. Delivering accuracy of ±10 seconds per year, the movement retains hallmark features such as the Backlash Auto-Adjust Mechanism and Twin Pulse Control Motor, while introducing a slimmer construction that allows for the smallest 9F-powered case to date. Each movement is hand-assembled at the Shinshu Watch Studio, ensuring precision and craftsmanship that reflect Grand Seiko’s philosophy of the “Nature of Time.”
Both timepieces are scheduled for release as continuous-production models starting in April. House in stainless steel cases, completed with matching bracelets, the watches will be available via Grand Seiko Boutiques and select retail partners worldwide, retailing at $3,200 USD.
