Summary

  • PlayStation and ANICORN mark the brand’s 30th anniversary with a limited mechanical watch and two Play Symbol quartz models
  • Prices range from $250 – $780 USD, the collection will be launching on December 19, 2025, exclusively through ANICORN

PlayStation and ANICORN have joined forces to celebrate the gaming icon’s 30th anniversary with a special collection of timepieces that honor three decades of play. The collaboration centers on a limited‑edition mechanical watch inspired by the original 1994 PlayStation console, accompanied by two contemporary Play Symbol variants.

The First PlayStation Limited Edition Mechanical Watch, limted to just 300 individually numbered pieces worldwide, pays tribute to the console that started it all. Its dial and strap feature the four classic △〇×□ symbols, while the hands incorporate the Start and Select buttons — an homage to the controller that defined a generation. The top cover bears the PlayStation logo, and the crown is engraved with the iconic power symbol, echoing the familiar thrill of switching on a console. Powered by a Miyota 9039 mechanical movement with a 42‑hour running time, the watch is housed in 316L stainless steel with sapphire glass, 5ATM water resistance, and an FKM strap.

Each mechanical watch is paired with a SAVE. LOAD. OVERWRITE. Memory Capsule, a true‑to‑era recreation of the original PlayStation memory card enhanced with NFC technology. When tapped, the capsule transports users to a digital Memory Board — a modern reinterpretation of managing game saves, now designed for personal storytelling. The watch also arrives in a collector‑grade metal protective case modeled after classic PlayStation hardware. Unscrewing the container mimics the tactile ritual of unlocking a secret save file, reinforcing the collaboration’s emphasis on physical interaction and the joy of discovery.

Alongside the anniversary centerpiece, PlayStation and ANICORN introduce the Play Symbol Dark Mode and Light Mode watches —two quartz timepieces inspired by the iconic △〇×□ symbols of the modern PlayStation universe. Featuring an oil‑injected display that creates a smooth, distortion‑free visual field, each watch animates the floating symbols with every wrist movement, turning time‑telling into a playful, game‑like moment.

Dark Mode channels the sleek, immersive feel of contemporary PlayStation interfaces, while Light Mode offers a bright, airy interpretation rooted in creativity. Both models feature Miyota 2035 quartz movements, 316L stainless steel cases, genuine leather straps, and 5ATM water resistance, completing a collection designed to be worn, celebrated, and passed on to the next generation of players.

The PlayStation x ANICORN collection is set for launch on December 19, 202 and will be available exclusively through ANICORN’s website. The flagship mechanical 30th Anniversary watch is priced at $780 USD, while the quartz Play Symbol variants offer a more accessible entry point at $250 USD each.
