Following the successful releases of Chapter 1: Phantom in the Rain in July 2024 and Chapter 2: Fire Rat in March 2025, the third film is set to bring the visually striking, stylized supernatural mystery to its climactic conclusion. The latest trailer confirms this final installment will be premiering on May 29, 2026, alongside its new voice cast. This final chapter will pit the Medicine Seller directly against the mononoke known as the Serpent God (“Hebigami”), continuing the story in the setting of the Ooku’s “Northern Room”. With the story set against the backdrop of the inner palace, where the intensity of women’s repressed emotions and dark secrets fuel the mononoke’s rage, the film promises a highly dramatic and symbolic final confrontation for the elusive wanderer.
