Summary

thisisneverthat and UNDERCOVER have built a joint collection that reinterprets the apple motif and other artworks from UNDERCOVER's graphic archive

The lineup is led by a washed denim down jacket and a jacquard zip-up hoodie, backed by denim pants and graphic T-shirts

A run of accessories rounds out the collaboration, which opens in Tokyo this week before reaching Seoul in December

thisisneverthat and UNDERCOVER have put together a collaborative collection, and the pieces are worth getting specific about. The Seoul label has taken UNDERCOVER’s signature apple motif along with a broader set of artworks and run them through its own lens, rather than simply reprinting them at scale. The result covers outerwear, denim, jersey and accessories, with the heaviest construction saved for the top of the range.

The anchor piece is a washed denim down jacket, a combination that asks the denim to carry a baffled insulated build while the wash treatment keeps the surface broken in rather than rigid. Sitting beside it is a jacquard zip-up hoodie, where the graphics are woven into the fabric structure itself instead of being applied on top, which is the more labor-intensive route to a motif and the one that holds up better over repeat wears.

From there the collection works down through the wardrobe. Denim pants extend the material story from the jacket, graphic T-shirts carry the artwork in its most direct form, and a range of accessories completes the offering. Across all of it, the apple sits as the recurring device, reframed through thisisneverthat’s own graphic sensibility.

The thisisneverthat x UNDERCOVER collection drops Friday, September 18 at 5 p.m. JST, available exclusively at the thisisneverthat Shibuya Flagship. A pop-up follows at the thisisneverthat Seongsu Flagship in Seoul this December.
