Nike is giving Erling Haaland a cleat that changes with the weather. The Phantom 6 Low Elite “Erling Haaland” arrives in Baltic Blue/Glacier Blue/Blue Eclipse. It pairs a water-activated color-changing upper with the performance package of Nike’s precision-focused silhouette, and the whole concept is built around water as a metaphor for how the striker plays.

The headline feature only appears once the grass is wet. The upper is printed with white ink that disappears on contact with water, revealing the full graphic hidden underneath. Nike ties the effect to Haaland himself, casting the reveal as a picture of a player who turns into something defenders can’t contain. Dry, the cleat reads as a clean study in icy blues. Wet, it shows everything.

That dual nature follows Nike’s broader framing of Haaland as water: constantly shifting, capable of stillness one moment and a surge the next. The cold-toned palette of Baltic, Glacier, and Eclipse blues keeps the theme consistent before a single drop hits the upper.

Underneath the concept, the construction is built for touch. Nike’s Gripknit forms the upper, a tacky textured material designed to hold the ball whether conditions are wet or dry. It’s a fitting pairing for a cleat that literally responds to rain, since the surface that changes appearance also keeps its grip when the weather turns.

Traction and fit round out the spec sheet. A Cyclone 360 circular stud pattern sits in the forefoot to help players plant and pivot quickly. The shoe’s frame is shaped for a more anatomical fit, particularly through the toe box, molding to the foot and bringing the wearer closer to the ball on strikes. Nike positions the Phantom 6 as an upgrade over the Phantom GX 2, with refined Gripknit touch zones, the more natural toe-box fit, and an improved Cyclone 360 plate. A cushioned sockliner finishes the interior, and this firm-ground version is intended for dry, natural-grass fields.
