Did HOKA Just Drop a Trail-Bound Bus Stop Outside Shibuya PARCO?!
Highlighting legendary ultra-runner Karl Meltzer and showcasing the latest Speedgoat 7 model.
Did HOKA just drop a “trail-bound” bus stop right in front of Shibuya PARCO? The brand is hosting “Meet the Speedgoat,” a limited-time pop-up space exploring the roots of its beloved Speedgoat trail running shoes, open from Wednesday, September 30, to Sunday, October 4.
Suddenly appearing in the middle of the city is a lone bus stop where ultra-runner Karl Meltzer sits. Known by his nickname “Speedgoat” for his ability to navigate rugged, technical trails with the effortless agility of a mountain goat, Meltzer takes center stage as the pop-up dives into the history behind the shoe franchise that debuted in his honor in 2015.
The venue also showcases the Speedgoat 7, the latest iteration of HOKA’s signature trail running line. Set against the backdrop of the bus stop featuring Meltzer holding the newest colorway, visitors can pick up a complimentary booklet detailing the shoe’s design specs and featuring an exclusive interview with Meltzer about the birth of the Speedgoat.
On the final day, Sunday, October 4, a special HOKA bus will actually pull up to this stop. It will pick up lottery winners for a day trip out of the city to test the Speedgoat 7 on real trails. (Please note that additional entries for this event are no longer being accepted.)
The latest Speedgoat 7 is a trail running shoe engineered with enhanced traction and cushioning. By pairing a high-energy-return, super-critical EVA midsole with a Vibram® Megagrip outsole featuring traction lugs, it delivers the ultimate balance of grip and responsiveness. The shoe is priced at 23,100 yen (tax included).
The collection offers a robust variety of colorways for both men and women. The men’s lineup includes Black/Outer Orbit, Black/Stellar Grey, Outer Orbit/Virtual Blue, Varsity Navy/Barley Flour, Black/HOKA Citrus, Antique Olive/Black, Alabaster/Morning Dew, and Black/White. The women’s selection features Barley/Barley Flour, Blueberry/Cosmic Grey, Black/Electric Aqua, and Black/White.
Additionally, the lineup introduces the waterproof Speedgoat 7 GTX. Equipped with a GORE-TEX Invisible Fit membrane and 100% recycled Cordura®, this rugged version also boasts toggle lacing, 360-degree reflective elements for low-light visibility, and an anti-odor sockliner. It is priced at 26,400 yen (tax included).
